3rd Annual Langston Galloway One Day Free Clinic-2018
Langston Galloway, a former standout at Christian Life in Baton Rouge and currently with the Detroit Pistons of the NBA, came back to Team Sportsplex to host his 3rd Annual Langston Galloway Basketball Clinic! In partnership with the YMCA of the Capital Area, Our Lady of the Lake Hospital and the Jump Start Your Heart Organization, The Galloway Group, LLC was able to give over 100 campers a day filled excitement through basketball and educational components!

On August 6, 2016, former Christian Life and current New Orleans Pelican's guard Langston Galloway finally had his career reach full circle. Newly married, Langston and Sabrina Galloway's first mission when they returned to Louisiana was to give back to the community that raised them. Through The Galloway Group, LLC and in partnership with YMCA of the Capital Area, Fidelity Bank Sportsplex was able to host Langston Galloway's 1st Annual One Day Free Clinic. With over 120 campers packed into Team Sportsplex, kids enjoyed a day of excitement through drills, competitions, and a few exciting appearances from former and current NBA players. Some of the notable former and current players in attendance were Allan Houston (New York Knicks), Garrett Temple (Sacramento Kings) and Darnell Lazare (Memphis Grizzlies).

In August 2014, former LSU men’s basketball Coach Dale Brown was recognized for his contributions to the community on and off the hardwood with the naming of a court in his honor by the Baton Rouge Basketball and Volleyball Association. Coach Brown, who coached the Tigers from 1972-97, was honored during the BRBVA Community Court Honors reception and dinner held at the L’Auberge Casino Ballroom. Several members of LSU’s All-Century team and former Tigers who played for Coach Brown during his 25-year tenure attended the event in support of their former coach. Some of the notable former players in attendance were Shaquille O'neal, Stanley Roberts, Jonnie Jones, Collis Temple Jr, and many more.
Send A Kid To Camp
The Send A Kid to Camp campaign raises funds to enable youth who cannot pay to attend camps. Each camp is fully-integrated and therefore delivers an opportunity for youth to interact in a systemized environment. Camp sponsorship for one child is $150. Where else can you give so much to a child for so little? Please consider this as a gift that you can give. It will be a gift to your community and to an individual child. In exchange, you or the gift recipient can expect to hear from a camper during the month of July including a camp group picture. Part of the camp program will be for all campers to summarize, what the camp week meant to them. The beauty of these communications is that they will not distinguish between those whose parents wrote a check and the youth who were given a scholarship. Thank you for considering a gift.
