Who We Are

Who We Are

OUR STORY

The Baton Rouge Basketball and Volleyball Association was founded on a powerful belief: sports can change lives.

What began as a small group of passionate coaches, parents, and community leaders quickly grew into something much bigger—a shared vision to create lasting impact through athletics. In 2011, that vision became reality through our partnership with BREC. With their support—providing facilities, resources, and expanded community access—we evolved from volunteer-led clinics into a structured, citywide program that continues to grow year after year.

Together, we’ve created a place where athletes of all ages and backgrounds are empowered to learn, compete, and succeed. While basketball and volleyball are at the core of what we do, our greatest impact reaches far beyond the court—building confidence, character, teamwork, and a strong sense of community.

Today, we proudly offer year-round leagues, training, and development opportunities, all driven by our mission to uplift Baton Rouge through sport.

Our story is still being written—and we’re honored to have you be part of it.

OUR MISSION

The mission of the Baton Rouge Basketball and Volleyball Association is to change lives through the power of sport. We believe basketball and volleyball are more than games—they are platforms for growth, connection, and opportunity. By providing accessible, high-quality programs, we inspire athletes of all ages and backgrounds to dream bigger, work harder, and strive for excellence.

Through passionate coaching and positive competition, we cultivate confidence, character, and resilience. We teach the value of teamwork, respect, and integrity, empowering athletes to lead with purpose both on and off the court. Every practice, game, and interaction is an opportunity to build not only stronger athletes, but stronger people.

Rooted in community, we are committed to creating a welcoming and supportive environment where individuals feel valued, challenged, and inspired. Together with families, coaches, and partners, we use sport to unite our community, open doors, and shape futures—helping the next generation grow into leaders who carry these lessons far beyond the game.
